Unlocked device with configuration access
Your modem must not be locked to another internet provider. You must own it and have access to configure it for your new connection.
In good working condition
Bring a working device with its correct power adapter. The fibre and network ports must be in good condition.
Network compatibility and activation
We check your model, required settings and local network compatibility before activation. A GPON or XPON label alone does not guarantee approval.

Can I use any modem or Wi-Fi router?
Your setup needs a compatible GPON or XPON fibre modem or Optical Network Terminal (ONT), either standalone or integrated into a fibre router. A Wi-Fi router with only Ethernet ports, or a DSL/cable modem, cannot replace the ONT. Share your complete setup with us to check compatibility.
Will every GPON or XPON device work?
Both GPON and XPON devices can be considered. Compatibility depends on the exact model, firmware, supported operating mode and local network requirements. Zapbytes will confirm whether your device works with your connection before activation.
Can I use a modem from my previous provider?
Yes, if you own the device, it is not locked to another provider and it meets our compatibility requirements. Check any return obligations with your previous provider and let us confirm the model before you switch.
Do I need a particular brand or Wi-Fi 6?
No particular brand or Wi-Fi 6 capability is required; compatibility with the Zapbytes fibre network is what matters. For plans above 100 Mbps, Gigabit Ethernet ports help avoid a speed limit at the port. Dual-band Wi-Fi is recommended for a better wireless experience.
What will I pay after the 30-day free trial?
After your 30-day free trial, your chosen broadband plan is charged at its regular price, including applicable taxes. We confirm the plan price and renewal dates before activation. OTT, IPTV and other optional services are charged separately if you choose them.
How can I check my modem model?
Look for the brand and model on the label underneath or behind your modem. Share those details and your area with Zapbytes on WhatsApp. If you are unsure about the device type or lock status, our team can help. You do not need to share passwords.
